How to Install Diablo 2 Resurrection on Linux

Welcome to hell my friends

While all those PC and Mac users effortlessly setup this rejuvenated masterpiece of a game, the same story cannot be said for Linux Users.

That’s OK though I’m here to help. Follow these steps and you’ll be slaying demons in no time.

Step 1: Install Lutris

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:lutris-team/lutris
sudo apt update
sudo apt install lutris

Step 2: Download and Install Battlenet

Download Battle.net-Setup.exe from here:

Install it using Lutris:

Step 3: Login to Battlenet and Install Diablo 2 Resurrection

If you load the game now you’ll notice that the characters renderings are all blacked out. Don’t worry we’ll fix this in the next step.

Step 4: Change your wine Environment Variable

Right click on Diablo 2 inside Lutris and go to settings.

Set the following Environment Variable.

Step 5: Change your desktop Icon

Skip this step if you wish, I just like an old-school desktop icon.
